Are you lonely tonight?

I have been thinking about loneliness since reading this article in the New York Times.

The article included the following assertion:

Researchers have found mounting evidence linking loneliness to physical illness and to functional and cognitive decline. As a predictor of early death, loneliness eclipses obesity.

What is your reaction to hearing about the connections of loneliness and health?

What do you think of The Silver Line, the British public health response to loneliness that is described in the article?

Do you know the signs of loneliness?

How do you respond when you notice someone is lonely?

And, what I think I most want to ask is…Are you lonely?

See you in the morning in the library at 9:15-

Kit, you are so tuned in to what is pertinent  for so many of us. Great article. Really makes me think about taking care of myself and being sensitive to others.  Thanks and  greetings. I join Holy Cross Episcopal church this morning. Peggy
