Who is that on the side of the road?

Hi all–

We’re doing a deep dive tomorrow into the story of the Good Samaritan.

Bring your favorite translation or favorite representation. Bring yourself and let’s talk about hearts that have the capacity to make neighbors.

Here is one of my favorite representations: U2’s Bullet the Blue Sky. It was originally written about El Salvador. The original lyrics end with the following:

Across the field you see the sky ripped open
See the rain through a gaping wound
Pounding on the women and children
Who run
Into the arms
Of America

They have used the song in different ways over the years. Here is a clip from 2015 and you can here how those final lyrics changed.
